Mid South Rhythm & Swing

Mid South Rhythm & Swing is a husband and wife duo from Jonesboro, AR that teach a variety of ballroom, latin and other dances. They can teach East Coast Swing, Cha-Cha, Waltz, Collegiate Shag, Charleston, Lindy Hop, Salsa, Merengue and One Step. The Instructors
Mike Cundall has been dancing for nealy a decade and placed first in the Swing category in 1999 and 2000 US DanceSport competitions. He was also a member of the Cincinnati Lindy Circle which was a performance troop during the late 1990's in Cincinnati, Ohio. Amy Werner has been dancing for 7 years and was also a member of the Cincinnati Lindy Circle. She enjoys teaching line dances and working with students to understand the fundamentals of dance.

Dance Instruction

Classes
We hold weekly classes on Tuesday nights from 7-8pm in the HPESS building on the Arkansas State University campus in Jonesboro, AR. The classes run on a rotating 6-week schedule and are taught for the beginning/intermediate level dancer. Advanced classes are run on request. They also teach individual or group privates (see below). MidSouth Rythmn and Swing has taught dance for Arkansas Northeastern Community College, Marylin's Clogging Co., Foundation for the Arts in Jonesboro, and Kathy's Clogging Co in Walnut Ridge.

Current and Upcoming Classes
We are currently running a Salsa class which will run until February 12th. Beginning February 19th, we will be covering either Fox Trot or Cha-Cha-Cha (TBA). Cost for the class is $30/person if paid in full or the cost is $7 per lesson per person.

Single Day Dance Workshops
The next workshop will be on Saturday, January 26th. This workshop will focus on Latin dance and we will be covering Salsa, Rhumba and Cha-Cha. (there is a Jonesboro Dance Club dance later that night where you can go and practice) To register please send a check payable to Mike Cundall to 1418 South Church St. Jonesboro, AR 72401. Include with the check your name(s), contact information, prior dance experience and what you hope to get from the class. The preregistration cost of $30 per person is available until 1-18/08. Late or at the door registrations will be $40 per person.

These workshopss cover four hours beginning at 10:00am and run until 3:30pm with a one and a half hour lunch break. There are two one-hour classes in the morning and two one-hour classes in the afternoon with the final hour consisting of review and practice session.

Privates
Mid South Rhythm & Swing are also available for privates, parties, private groups or other special events (prices are available upon request).
